Peaches And Her Lucky Orange Bandana

My friend Brenda Kane from Hayward Animal Shelter recently shared a great story about Peaches, one of the many dogs who have worn our Adoption Think About It... bandana. Check it out below.

Peaches - Hayward Animal Shelter
Peaches had been at the shelter for 2 1/2 months, and I was starting to get worried that she wasn't going to get adopted. She was found stray in Hayward, CA and then a homeless woman came to the shelter and identified her as her dog. I don't know if she couldn't afford the fees to get her back or what. I'd add that Peaches has been my favorite shelter dog of the year.   I would have adopted her if I didn't already have two big dogs.

She was always happy, even after being in a cage for so long.  She loved every person and dog she met along the way.  When all the other dogs in her ward would be barking, she would just sit there patiently waiting for a volunteer to take her for a walk.  She loved to play with toys in the off-leash run.

[A couple of weeks ago], a family of 8 adopted her (boo for them for having so many kids but yay for Peaches because she will probably hardly ever be alone!)  Maybe putting her in [Alex's] favorite color bandana was the good luck she needed to get adopted!

Los Angeles: See You On Sunday!

This coming Sunday, May 20th, I'm bringing STAY VOCAL to WorldFest in Lake Balboa, CA (near Los Angeles). I missed the event in 2011, but this year I'm going back and trust me, the booth is going to be amazing! Almost everything you see in the online shop will be available...and a lot of shirts not online as well.

So, what's WorldFest? It's a "solar-powered celebration of music, the environment, animals and humanity." In other words, it's an awesome and inexpensive time with a ton of great music, speakers, FOOD, organizations, and vendors. There's even animal adoptions, so if you're looking for a companion, you're in luck!

Well, if I didn't convince you to go, check out the info below. And then there's really only one thing more to say. See you Sunday!

New Water Saver Designs & New Gallon Goal

Last week, we officially launched the first 3 designs of our new Limited Edition Water Saver Series #2. And today, we're announcing the release of two more, including a highly limited women's T-Shirt (3 total pieces) and a Men's tank top; perfect for the summer weather.

With the release of these new designs, we have also set a new goal with our Water Saver shirts. By the first day of summer, June 20th, our goal is to hit 60,000 total gallons saved with the water drop design alone. That's enough water for over 325 people to drink an average amount in a year!

For those who might not know about these shirts, the Water Saver Series is based on the fact that it takes 400 gallons of water to grow enough cotton for one new t-shirt. So, by purchasing a ReUse T-Shirt instead, that water can be used for something else. And that's called making an impact.

Over the next few days, we will be announcing the remaining shirts in this series. There will be at least four, so stay tuned. For now, you can order one of the new Water Saver shirts here.
